Marines: fund your exam through MC COOL.

Marine Corps COOL is a voucher program for enlisted Marines. After your command approves, it pays your certification exam and related fees directly to the credentialing body. Here is how it works, and how the prep fits in.

Coming soon: We are completing approval to support Marine Corps COOL. Email info@pm4life.biz to be notified when it is available. Here is how it will work: MC COOL funds your certification exam and related fees, not your prep course, and vouchers are first-come, first-served from a limited fund.

Who qualifies

Enlisted Marines in, or qualified for, the MOS the credential is mapped to. Your eligibility and experience are validated by your chain of command and approved by your Commanding Officer or a command-designated approving official (E-7 or above).

Step by step

Six steps through MC COOL.

  1. Find the credential in Marine Corps COOL

Log in to Marine Corps COOL and confirm your target credential (for example, PMP) is mapped and eligible for your MOS.

  2. Confirm you can test

Contact the testing agency (PMI, delivered through Pearson VUE) to confirm the exam is available at a date and location you can attend before you request funding.

  3. Complete the voucher request

From Marine Corps COOL, use "Get Certified," then "Complete Funding Request," and submit the Voluntary Certification & Licensing Voucher Request.

  4. Route it through your chain of command

Your chain verifies your eligibility and experience, then your Commanding Officer or authorized approving official (E-7 or above) forwards the approved request to the Credentials Program Office.

  5. Submit at least 7 business days before the exam

The Credentials Program Office must receive your request no less than 7 business days before your exam date. Late requests are handled case by case and risk denial for insufficient processing time.

  6. Take the exam and report within 30 days

Once funded, schedule and take your exam. Report your results (pass or fail) to the Credentials Program Office (usmccool@navy.mil) within 30 calendar days of testing.

Where we fit: MC COOL covers the exam and related fees, not the prep. Your PM 4 Life boot camp is a separate cost, which you can self-pay or cover through another option on our funding page. We will help you confirm the exam details and provide an itemized receipt. Vouchers are limited, so start early, and confirm the current process with your command. Email info@pm4life.biz with questions.
