Built by a project manager. For project managers.
PM 4 Life isn't a corporation chasing volume. It's a focused practice run by someone who's actually done the work.
Michael Chin
Founder & Lead InstructorMichael is an active practitioner. In his day role as Director of Client Operations, he manages a portfolio of independent and interdependent projects and programs — meaning the frameworks he teaches at PM 4 Life are the same ones he’s applying every day.
A U.S. Air Force veteran with 23+ years of service and 20+ years of project and program management experience across military and civilian sectors, Michael holds PMP®, PMI-ACP®, and PgMP® certifications and a Master’s of Education (M.Ed.) in Administration & Leadership. As founder and lead instructor of PM 4 Life — a PMI Authorized Training Partner — he’s delivered 5,000+ hours of classroom instruction and helped nearly 1,000 students earn their certifications.
Foundationally rooted in the belief that relationships matter, Michael has spent his career building teams and friendships across the globe — Japan, Germany, England, and Alaska, which will always have a special place. He brings that same connection-first approach to every PM 4 Life student.
Why PM 4 Life exists.
PM 4 Life, LLC was founded on a simple belief: relationships matter. After two decades of leading projects across military and civilian sectors, our founder kept seeing the same thing — talented professionals were getting stuck on the PMP exam, not because they lacked skill, but because the big training providers treated them like a number.
We built PM 4 Life to be the opposite of that. Smaller cohorts. Real instructors. Real conversations. A path to certification that respects your time, your background, and your goals — whether you're transitioning out of uniform or climbing the corporate ladder.
Some things you can't learn from a video.
Try teaching someone to swim over the phone. The instructions are simple enough — kick, breathe, stroke. The doing? That requires water, a coach in it with you, and the kind of feedback that only happens in real time.
PMI exam prep is the same. Memorizing the PMBOK® Guide doesn't pass the exam — applying it under pressure does. That's tacit knowledge: the judgment that builds in conversation, in seeing how someone else thinks through a problem, in being asked the question you didn't see coming. It doesn't transfer through pre-recorded video or computer-based training. It has to be lived.
Every PM 4 Life cohort is live, interactive, and small enough that you're a participant — not a viewer. And once class ends, we don't disappear. Boot camp students get full support through everything that follows: eligibility application, audit response if PMI selects you, exam scheduling, and test-day strategy. We're not selling a class. We're selling done.
The principles that guide every cohort.
- Relationships beat transactions. Every time.
- The fastest path is the well-prepared one. No shortcuts. No fluff.
- Your background is an asset — military, corporate, public safety. It all maps to project management.
- Certification is a beginning, not an end. We're here for the career, not just the exam.
